The old saying, "You can't pour from an empty well," is repeated often because it's true!
So what does self-care look like for you? And how to prioritize it?
Everything starts with mindset! Let's improve yours.
Why is this such a barrier to those who need it most?
Because we don't see our creative careers as "stressful!" We see ourselves as "the lucky ones" who get to "just make stuff all day." Maybe we're surrounded by "non-maker friends," like doctors, lawyers, accountants, law enforcement, etc.
The truth is creators do deal with stress! Our work matters no less than theirs. We juggle responsibilities like anyone else and creative careers are just as valid as anyone with M.D., Esq., or Ph.D. in their title!
You're going to give your BEST creative products and services to the world in the strongest way once you've paid yourself first.

The rule throughout Julia Cameron's classic book is that self-care is mandatory through the process of recovering one's creativity.
Cameron says:
"We must become alert enough to consciously replenish our creative resources as we draw on them—to restock the trout pond, so to speak. I call this process filling the well."
What will you do today to fill your own well in order to create as strongly as possible?
