33,246+ This is the number of steps I’ve taken while at ABFF. And Here are Five Reasons I’m Recommitting to a Walking Program.

I am a big believer that traveling has the power to change your life.

I just completed my second 2022 trip. And after two years in the house, four days enjoying films from talented creatives was an amazing experience.

I laughed, I cried, and you know what else I did? I WALKED, a lot. And going from couch to 10k steps overnight is not advised which I say part joking while also dead serious.😜 Here are five reasons I am more determined than ever to build a walking routine.

My Five Reasons

  • Reason #1: The Atlanta airport gates are about 5011 city blocks. I want to ready for the hike next trip.

  • Reason #2: There isn’t Uber from your hotel room to the beach. I love the beach and quickly remembered that the beautiful water is a lot further than it looks.

  • Reason #3: Festivals are spread out and being able to take it all it means you are going to walk a lot.

  • Reason #4: Standing is just as taxing as walking when your fresh off the couch. I want to be able to stand and wait patiently without feeling close to puttering out while waiting for Ubers or the doors to a cool event to open.

  • Reason #5: I still love a music and the next time I get a bonus concert at a festival I want to have the the stamina to dance all night after walking all day.

I’m home. My UberEats have arrived. And my plan is to simply be in bed by 7:30pm.

If your 2022 travel has taught you some lessons, I’d love to hear them. Please share in the comments.
