I fell off the ship yesterday!
I could see it coming. I was initially writing my essays early in the morning (6 AM). Then I started waking up late and had to push my writing sessions to 12 PM. With things getting busy at work, my writing sessions were gradually pushed to 8 PM.
Last night, family obligations stopped me from writing my essay and it finally happened. I fell off the ship!
Here is how I think you can avoid similar mistakes:
🖊 Hit publish before daily obligations start.
Early mornings are the best time to spend on personal growth activities including building a daily writing habit. Here is why:
It's the most peaceful time of day. You're fresh out-of-bed ready to start with no texts, emails, or meetings to distract you.
It's the only time in the day you have full control over. it's before the day-to-day responsibilities of your job kick in or before social obligations start in the evening.
📆 Have a dedicated block of time and a backup plan.
Consistency is key here. Write every day during your sacred hours.
But there is no guarantee that you will always write during your dedicated time slot. Unexpected events happen, and that's fine. When this happens, make sure you have an immediate backup plan to save the day and go back to your regular plan the next day.
My backup plan is to write 2 pieces the next day to make it up.

I'm writing this piece at 8 AM. This week I plan to gradually shift my wake time to 5:30 AM and keep a consistent sleep schedule. This way I can once again write my essay at 6 AM every day.
