The Power In Cardio's Ability To Reduce Anxiety
Camryn Kettinger

I joined my first ever cycling class. I can confidently say these will be an every Thursday kind of thing.

My anxiety has most definitely caused me to be lazy and even affect my health. After feeling like it was time to get up and get my act together, I started to join group fitness classes to motivate me. So far I have done cycling and pilates. Early morning fitness classes have completely changed my days for the good.

I have noticed how much more productive and energized I am throughout my day. Allowing me to complete chores and takes, preventing anxious feelings.

I find trying out different classes now as a hobby. I meet people, and choose my preference, all the while getting my body moving. I used to find cardio or really any form of exercise dreading but once I pushed myself and realized what I was capable of doing, my idea changed.

This altered Idea i had on cardio ultimately correlates with other feelings of laziness while battling anxiety. For example, when I push myself to complete assignments or study I realize that dreading and putting it off only made it seem harder than it was.

I love creating playlists and moving to the beat of songs motivating me to keep my body going as well as tackling and destroying any anxious thoughts.

Never would I have thought that I would turn into a cardio/ gym rat, but the time has come- fortunately.
