Essay #14: Realizing What Job is Best for You in the Future
Cecilia Valdes-Brito

How does one really know what career they want to pursue in the future? This is a very difficult question because there are alot of factors that go into picking your job or career. I would never think that there would be a struggle just to figure out what I wanted to do as my full time job. This was mainly because your decisions that are made now can make or break your lifestyle later on.

When I realized that my decisions had a great impact on my life, I went into a complete shock. I had no idea what to do or what I was going to do, I had just been questioning myself from the start. At first I had believed that I wanted to study interior design, but now I am not sure that I really love what I am studying. Usually what the majority of college students do is that they study a particular subject and if they do not really enjoy it, then they could switch out of it quite easily, but this was not the case for me.

For interior design students, their classes can be very difficult because they go hand-in-hand with architecture. What not many people know is that interior design is more difficult than you would believe. There are a lot of elements to it that just make it very difficult to study and one of these elements is the way you pick your classes. Usually when you study a different major you can take your classes in whichever order you may like, but for interior design and architecture there are just a ton of classes for design that would set you back if you do decide to try a different major and just go back.

Honestly, if you decide that you do not like your major, you should branch out and try something new so that you can see what you truly enjoy doing. At the end of the day your classes are very important and they set you up for your career in the future, so always try your best to do what you love.
