If you want to increase your output and maintain quality, you need a system that helps you do that.
I deliver between 8-12 talks a month during busy periods (Feb-Jun and Sep-Nov). I couldn't do this without a framework that allows me to start more quickly and create outputs faster.
Don't start from scratch with every presentation
It's time consuming and not scalable to start at the beginning every time you prepare for a talk.
Keep every set of slides and topic collection you've produced and reuse elements you already have. Write down good ideas for a presentation and refer to them as necessary.
Use templates to save time
Slide templates, outlines and stock images speed up the creation process.
These areas can quickly become time suckers, so find good templates, e.g. your corporate slide deck, and roll with it. Don't let perfection get in the way.
Repeat what works and follow a script
I use a 5 step framework for every presentation I prepare. You can read my original 7 steps here for free or access my comprehensive public speaking guide here.
Every time I prepare for a talk, I follow the same 5 steps:
Title and abstract
Create a rough outline
Fill the outline with detail
Create presentation slides
Rehearse and iterate
This method makes me faster, the process more predictable and helps me estimate accurately how long it will take. This translates into the number of talks I can commit to.
If you want to increase your volume of outputs, work with a strong, reliable system you can use over and over again.
