There is one key factor in getting noticed online. And it's not selfies.
Eva Murray

If you want your work to be noticed online, you need a strong personal brand, but how do you build one?

Your personal brand is whatever you make it. It can be artistic, technical, mysterious, bold and direct and many other things. You can build it by writing, sharing videos, photos, audio and by publishing your work.

The most important element: Consistency.

Show up regularly to build a strong brand

You can have the greatest data visualisation and the most efficient code: if you don't show up regularly, people will forget.

While you don't have to 'share' every day, building your brand is much like tending to house plants. Regular attention, the right place and environment are important for your brand and reputation to grow stronger.

Put your flag in the ground and have an opinion

That topic you're passionate about? Let people know where you stand and don't hide your opinion behind vague language.

Be courteous and professional, but have the courage to own your space fully. Those who don't like what you create can go elsewhere and those who love your work will stick around and appreciate your clarity.

You don't have to build impressive things and attract big audiences. Show up consistently, establish a connection with your followers and you'll soon get noticed more and more.
