How To Live Your Yoga Off The Mat—And On The Job—With The Practice Of Ahimsa, Or Causing No Harm
Heather Larson @WriterHeatherL

What the heck is "off the mat yoga" anyway?

It's 7/8 the true practice of yoga and more than postures. So how do you live your yoga as a content creator?

In a time when it seems that everyone is looking for a personal development role model or guru to follow for practical living advice, the simple truths of yoga continue to hold true after centuries.

How To Take Yoga To Work Without Doing a Single Pose

Many people think they have to "go vegan" to be a yogi—but why?

Those who choose this route are influenced by "Ahimsa," or "non-harming." But you don't have to "go vegan" to apply the ideal of causing no harm. You can make this a part of your business (or brand) mission, even as a solopreneur.

So how do you do it?

Have You Noticed "Empathy" Has Become a Business Buzzword?

I noticed this a year ago.

Empathy is a marketing-specific business keyword. Call it the influence of a couple of rough years globally to create this worldwide trend. But, empathy matters.

Empathy = Ahimsa!

How You Can Utilize Ahimsa In Business

Call it by a buzzword in order to fit in if you wish.

But implementing ahimsa in your business practices will last longer than "empathy" lasts as a buzzword. "Non-harming" in the world of business means putting a customer first, listening, providing value, working with integrity, and ensuring everyone profits—not just me.

It creates the idea of a "we" in place of "me," allowing us to remember the point of yoga is union, or interconnectedness.

So you see, you don't have to become a tie-dye and patchouli-wearing "hippie" vegan who doesn't wear deodorant in order to practice yoga at work!
