Reading has Relieved Some Symptoms of Depression for Me.

Books have always been a great way to pass time by diving into deep stories, informing yourself on documentary novels, and many more pieces of literature providing an almost endless selection of genres and styles. Reading can distract the mind and put you into a completely new world than you imagine. This stimulates your brain and gets you hooked, while at the same time relaxing you.

Reading books has helped me with my depression since I was a kid. Its meditative effects relax me and distract my mind enough to completely let loose. This is because I am required to focus on one specific task without any distractions and the enjoyability of reading makes me want to continue which creates a healthy habit.

The calming effects of reading lower my stress and anxiety. They also relax my muscles and joints, allowing for muscle recovery after exercise, which makes reading after the gym a great pastime.
