When Dealing with Depression it is Important to Face Your Fears.

We as people have many fears of rejection, judgment, and failure, amongst many other things. This causes some people to never experience the beauty that the world has to offer. Depression is a very ugly illness that can drive people into thinking extremely negative thoughts of themselves and possibly making them paranoid about others judging them. This causes many social fears to arise such as the worry of being secretly judged due to the widespread misinterpretation of what depression really is.

Not facing those fears can cause one to isolate themselves worsening symptoms. This can lead an individual to spiral down into a toxic mental cycle of judging themselves therefore not exposing themselves which ties back down to feeling lonely which further worsens depression. A way to combat this is by forcing oneself to go to social events and always participating when invited to one.

Another fear that bothers many people is the fear of failure. Many people avoid difficult situations because of this, which causes the person to never try anything challenging. This is an issue because the only way to grow as a person is by overcoming difficulties that teach them. Depression is worsened by this because a person may feel stuck and not able to achieve anything. It is very important to challenge yourself and face your fears in order to grow, learn, and be a happier, healthier person.
