Saying No. It's easier for some more than others, but the important of setting boundaries cannot be forsaken.

What are Boundaries?

Boundaries are a set of rules or limits for the behaviors or actions of others. This is how you can communicate to others an invisible line that they cannot cross. Boundaries can be emotional or physical and protect your well-being.

Why are Boundaries Important?

Boundaries serve as a form of protection against behaviors that make you feel uncomfortable, disrespected, or negative in any way. It's also an essential part of communication. You need to express your feelings in any sort of relationship to prevent a line from being crossed that will negatively impact your well-being.

How to Set Boundaries

First, have an honest conversation about the behaviors that make you uncomfortable and discuss how you want to be treated. Then, recognize any time or space constraints. For instance, if you have a set time every day for journaling, meditation, or any other self-care practice, make it clear that you should not be disturbed during that time and your time alone should be respected. Finally, firmly establish your boundaries and make sure to ask if the person you're talking to has any boundaries of their own.

Setting boundaries is essential for self-care and one should always stand up for themselves to protect their well-being.
