How to Use Affirmations

Affirmations can be said out loud, written down, or even as a thought. To begin practicing, try practicing in front of a mirror in a private space. Think of qualities you want to have or want to reinforce. For instance, "I am confident" or "I am taking care of my mind and body." You can also use negative thoughts and turn them into positive affirmations. For example, if you fail a test and negative thoughts flood your mind which make you doubt your intelligence, try repeating "I am smart" or "I am learning" Positivity and repetition are key. By saying a phrase over and over, you'll encourage an optimistic mindset.
