Day 20: How to Create a Self-Care Routine

Self-care combined all aspects of mental and physical health. Prioritizing your self-care is key to happiness. By creating a self-care routine, you can make sure you take all the necessary steps to care for your well-being on a daily basis.

Identify Your Needs

Think about the actions that you can take everyday to care for your mind and body. Consider adding certain practices to your routine such as meditation, positive affirmations, and journaling. Additionally, make sure to create goals such as eating healthy to nourish your body properly and exercise to boost physical health and extend your lifespan. 

Set a Time 

Think about the best time of the day to complete a specific action. Consider starting off your day with positive affirmations and meditation. Instead of scrolling through your phone, play some music to boost your mood or do some yoga stretches to wake your body up. Practice gratitude by journaling and writing down 5 things you’re grateful for. At the end of the day, reflect on the good and bad aspects of your day. Set aside time for exercise, reading, and any hobbies that bring you joy. Additionally, make sure you’re getting enough sleep, it’s essential for optimal functioning. 

Add Extra Activities

Set aside some spare time for activities such as volunteering. Try giving back to your community once a week or as often as you can. Schedule time in your planner. This will improve your mental health in many ways. Make sure you’re also spending time with your loved ones and maintain your relationships.

Self-care is not selfish. By focusing on loving your self and taking steps towards personal growth, you strive to live for a better life. Not only will self-care improve your own wellbeing, but it will also improve your relationships with others. A self-care routine will help improve your consistency and motivate you to reach your full potential.
