My grandmother is the strongest person that I know.

I am grateful for my grandmother for many things but mostly for demonstrating me the meaning of being strong. It does not mean physically strong, it is about the strength that comes within ourselves.

My grandmother has had a very hard life since very young. Her father was sent to prison when she has just ten years old for more than twenty years. He missed so many important things her life like the birth of her children and her wedding. He wasn't able to be present and that is very tough to accept. She had two daughters, my mother and my aunt. In 1989 my grandmother lost my aunt who died during a surgery.During the years she has lost her mother, father , daughter and more than three brothers. She was diagnosed with diabetes and had a fall that almost caused an amputation.

Great pain has been presented to my grandmother and she has stood strong in the face of them all and continued to fight and see life in a better way. She has been proof that life is full of unpleasant surprises and you will never truly ready for any of them, but despite all of that she has continued to live and see.

She inspires me to one day be as strong and wise as her and be able to over come life's hardest lessons. I have never seen my grandmother fall apart no matter how hard it is, she is my idol Andy greatest example of inner strength and gratitude. I wish life wouldn't have been so hard for her but it made her the outstanding woman she is today.
