Managing the Overwhelming Amount of Information Concerning the Gym in College
Ryan Hidalgo

There can be a lot of information about working out in the gym, but it would surprise you the amount of info that you don't need to start or even progress.

The first thing you will probably do when you start in the gym is look up what to do first, which is not a bad idea, but you have to be careful as there are many plans out on the web that is not for beginners and could get you to overtrain very quickly.

Making sure your search is focused only on beginners will help a lot to minimize frustration and confusion when you are getting started with working out.

Once you generalize your search to be focused on beginner training, you also need to make sure your sources are credible, as beginners need to worry about being manipulated and lied to into buying useless plans that will have them just running in circles.

As your fitness journey progresses, you will see what works for you, but following recommendations is a good idea from credible professionals. Also, avoid most of the things you see on social media that could be labeled as helpful but are not genuine or are myths.

Having someone to guide you that you know could also be a great help if you don't know what to look for.

To summarize it all for you, avoid social media for advice on fitness as a beginner, make sure your source for information is credible, make sure you generalize your search, so you are only getting plans for beginners, and ask for help from someone you know is a good idea.
