Austin Kleon, in his book "Keep Going," talks about reframing why we make art or creative work and share the following quote:

" Don't make stuff because you want to make money–it will never make you enough money. And not make stuff because you want to get famous–because you will never feel famous enough. (cont.)

Make gifts for people–and work hard on making those gifts in the hope that those people will notice and like the gifts." - John Green.

The exciting thing for me is if you treat your work as a gift, there is a good chance that love and care are the fibers of your art because someone will receive it. So, it's your name and reputation on the line; love for yourself and others.

Your gift will symbolize your way of conducting yourself in the world, and I think that counts for something. What's your take?
