1. Focus on Eating Real Food: Prioritize whole, unprocessed foods over packaged items.
2. Meal Planning & Prep: Set aside time each week to plan and prepare meals & snacks (see #1).

3. Balanced Nutrition: Aim for satiating lean protein, healthy fat, and dietary fiber with every meal and snack.
4. Make Smart Swaps: Instead of yogurt and raisins as a snack, switch to Greek yogurt with berries and nuts (see #3).

5. Be Mindful of Sweeteners: Instead of putting 4 spoonfuls of honey in his pot of tea, cut back to 1 (or none).
6. Resistance Training: Build muscle to improve glucose metabolism. Muscle is the biggest glucose sink.

7. Coffee Benefits: It's OK to enjoy 1-2 cups of black coffee a day. Data suggests it may actually benefit fatty liver.
