I share tips to help over 40’s embrace and use AI in the workplace and not get left behind.

Developing an authentic and fulfilling life involves overcoming excessive niceness, which often stems from a fear of being unlovable.

This behaviour can hinder genuine self-expression and connection.

Here are 4 Key Strategies to break free:

1. Address Unlovability:

• Cultivate self-love by challenging the inner critic and affirming your worthiness.

• Practices like looking in the mirror and affirming "Life loves you" or writing compassionate letters to oneself can help shift this deep-seated belief.

2. Develop Communication Skills:

• Practice expressing needs directly to build genuine connections.

• Start by identifying areas where you've avoided direct communication and practice expressing yourself more directly in small steps.

3. Embrace Discomfort:

• The fear of conflict and discomfort is a hallmark of excessive niceness, leading to the suppression of one's true thoughts and feelings.

• Accept conflict as a growth opportunity and express opinions even if it causes tension.

• Engaging in practices that push you outside your comfort zone, both physically and emotionally, can strengthen your ability to handle challenging situations and emotions.

4. Release Over-Responsibility:

• Recognize that others' emotions are their responsibility, not yours.

• Practice detaching from the need to fix or control others' feelings and allow them to experience their own emotions without taking it personally.

Implementing these strategies requires courage and self-compassion, leading to a life aligned with your true values.
