Growing Out Of A Scarcity Mindset Requires Uncomfortable Reflection On Your Past Actions.
How you frame your past experiences while holding a narrow perspective determines how quickly you move into abundance.
I call these past actions Scarcity Drives.
Here are 3 Examples:
1/ Missing out on opportunities.
Not seeing an opportunity before it is taken. Or not taking an opportunity when offered. The scarce mindset here is a lack of self belief - often based on background (roots) or past experiences (bias).
1.1/ Scarcity Drive: Discounting your value and ability when confronted with opportunity.
2/ Learning skills out of a fear of a previous -or imagined- negative situation.
Learning from a perceived necessity can shorten the learning curve. But doesn't prioritize what is best for you to learn at that time. It looks like avoiding a problem rather than achieving a goal.
2.1/ Scarcity Drive: Learning for the sake of avoiding specific experiences or situations.
3/ Transactional instead of relational.
Interactions with others are temporary. You want to know what the end goal of the interaction is and move toward it - constantly stressing the relationship. Abundance brings relational interaction - reciprocal and invested long term.
3.1/ Scarcity Drive: Vulnerability and reciprocity are a personal threat - rather than an opportunity for both people to grow.
TL;DR
Scarcity Drives:
Discounting your value and ability when confronted with opportunity.
Learning for the sake of avoiding specific experiences or situations.
Vulnerability and reciprocity are a personal threat - rather than an opportunity for both people to grow.
