Insecurity.

Scarcity doesn't always occur throughout every aspect of life. It can occur at work, home, or school. It is defined by a fear of not having enough.

Scarcity is often triggered by competition. Competition means there is something to win - and lose.

This implies scarcity.

In a home it can be affection.

At work it can be opportunity for advancement.

At school it can be time to complete assignments vs time to spend in fun.

What underlies all of these examples?

A feeling of insecurity in one or more aspects of life. A fear of acting or a fear of inaction. A belief that a trade-off must always take place.
