A few controversial things I believe about the future of farming:
1) Much of current arable land will not be as viable for industrial farming.
I’m not saying it is not possible.
I’m just saying it seems increasing unlikely with the current climate.
2) Contrary to popular belief, industrial farming indefinitely is a myth.
Soil depletion
Water table depletion
Dangerous pesticide levels
Monoculture is the fast-track to desertification.
3) Regenerative farming may be a solution.
Most people don't realize soil can be regenerated.
Using methods like…
No Till
Cover Crops
Crop Rotation
4) Indoor vertical farms are the future of food.
Outputs and conditions can be fully controlled.
Which leads to:
Year round harvesting
Little or no pesticides
Lower water usage
