3 Essential Questions for Identifying Your Target Audience
The sooner you realize who you are writing for, the more positive impact you will have.
1. Who are your potential readers?
Reflect on what elements of yourself have led you to where you are and what you are writing about. Those on a similar journey will resonate with you.
2. What are their demographics?
The age, gender, and approximate location of those interested in reading your work. Check your data to get started.
3. What are their needs and preferences?
The outcome are they searching for and in a particular way. Again, reflect on your own journey. Most often the best help comes from those who have lived the problem and the solution.
Get uncomfortably specific.
Then test your hypothesis.
Iterate until you find strong resonance with your audience.
