When I started to develop my first indie apps, I had a hard time coming up with app ideas that felt worth implementing. Marketing and pricing for the product was the next-level challenge.
Indie App business is not so hard if you:
Build for yourself:
Consider creating an app that solves a problem you personally face or helps with an interest you're passionate about. This approach ensures you deeply understand the target audience, as you are a part of it. By building something that resonates with you, you'll be more motivated to see the project through and create a product that genuinely helps others like you.
Write the App Description and ASO to yourself:
Sure, read about AppStore optimization, and apply that to hashtags and descriptions, but if you are doing any content marketing, again, keep yourself in mind. Building in public and sharing the process is a great way to start marketing for your App and try to attract first customers.
Create Paywall and sell to yourself:
Design a pricing strategy that you, as a user, would find reasonable and compelling. Consider what you'd be willing to pay for the app's value and how to effectively communicate that value to potential customers.
There are a lot of people with the same problems like you have. You need to sell your product to a fraction of them. Remember that even if your app's audience is a niche, it can still be profitable in the global market.
Focus on quality and targeting that core group of users who share your interests or face the same challenges. By addressing the demands of this dedicated user base, you can carve out a successful space for your indie app in the market.
