4 Annoying lines we use; Instead, rethink
Akash Bhattacharya

That will never work here

Yes, the important word is "here". Notice.

Action: Start with "why"? What's special about "here"? What worse can happen here? Why is that not acceptable? Try once with a lower failure risk.

That's not what my experience has shown

Yes, the important word is "my experience". Get specific.

Action: What was the experience? What did we learn? Why does this person have this experience? How about others? Can we take the learnings and tweak them to suit the need?

That's too complicated

Yes, the important word is "too". Too much.

Action: Change is complicated. Who doesn't want an easy life? Can we reduce the "too" part and go for an idea validation part? How can we simplify the complication?

That's the way we've always done it

Yes, the important word is "always ". Habit.

Action:  It's a success story in the mind. None wants to have failure. So, encourage an environment for failing fast, fail often. You learn.

I am sure there are many things in work and personal life that irritate you. It's up to you (and none else!) to "rethink". Define and then refine.
