I have been in the world of personal development for the last 10 years.
Along the way, I have done all sorts of things to improve my knowledge, and apply it:
I've read Tara Mohr's Playing Big, which encourages women to find their voice and make things happen
I've listened to Marie Forleo's podcast and watched hours of Marie TV for inspiration and cheerleading
I've been coached and trained by Joanna Martin, founder of One of Many (a UK women's leadership organisation)
and much more...
And all of these things helped me a lot.
But if I had to start all over again (as a beginner), this is the simple framework I wish I'd had for impactful self-development:
Step 1: Know Who You Are
Everything in life starts and ends with you. So, its crucial that you know yourself inside out.
Step 2: Know What You Want (and why)
Knowing what you want gives you direction and purpose. Take time to understand what's truly important to you.
Step 3: Know How To Get There (and make a start)
You must make a plan for achieving what you want, and then take the steps - however hard, or small - to get yourself there.
When you're first starting out, this is all that matters.
