I've been on the journey of quitting porn for about 2 years now. Here are the 3 simple (but effective) pieces of advice I'd give anyone starting out (or who wants to get started):

Advice #1: Adopt a growth mindset

Don't think that every time you relapse, you go back to the starting point. No, you do not; you actually go further for however long you abstained.

Plus, quitting any addiction is a lifelong journey. Who cares if you relapse? How many times? So don't let the relapse lower your self-esteem and push you further into the rabbit hole of self-pity.

Advice #2: Turn it to black and white or Grayscale mode

You'll be surprised how colors can affect your dopamine stimulation. Turning it to black and white makes it less interesting and more boring to watch. So, when it's in black and white, it becomes easier to quit.

Advice #3: Find better alternatives

Brainstorm to see what it is that makes you want to watch. Is it boredom, urges, decompression, distraction, or relief from anxieties?

Once you've identified the reasons, ask yourself what better alternatives can give you a similar or close result.

For me, it's boredom and decompression, so I chose to either read books, talk to a friend over the phone, or relieve it through masturbation without porn.

You'll discover better alternatives over time.

Remember, "A thousand-mile journey starts with a single step."

Honestly, I wish someone had told me these 3 things earlier in my journey, but I'm at least glad I can pass them along to you.
