Welcome to my Typeshare Gallery

There is just so much content. So much to consume, to draw value from, to entertain yourself with. Of all the different content types, written content like articles, blogs or books are the formats that can be most easily captured and remembered in the future. If you've got the right tools in place, you can do this easily.

Here's a three tool flow for capturing knowledge from everything you read, storing it and resurfacing it or putting it to good use later on.

1. Pocket

getpocket.com

This is the very best of the read-it-later apps. There are others, like Instapaper or Apple's built-in tools, but Pocket keeps things simple and allows you to collect the articles you want to read, collect highlights and leave yourself notes. Through the app or extensions in your browser, you can collect and store articles from across the web to read later on. For e-books, the standard Kindle or Apple Books highlight tools are great too.

2. Readwise

Once you've collected, read and highlighted the best parts of the content in Pocket, you can use the link to Readwise. This is another tool that takes your highlights, stores them and makes them easily searchable. It also has a Daily Review feature which encourages you to take a look at a few old highlights each day. This resurfacing is great for cementing nuggets of knowledge and resurfacing the best bits from articles you've read in the past.

3. Roam

roamresearch.com

Roam is my notes app of choice. But Readwise integrates with several note-taking tools including Notion, Obsidian and Evernote. Readwise lets you export your highlights to Roam, add your thoughts or context and help to commit them to memory. The crosslinking feature in Roam also means you can link your highlights to other notes in your database and ensure the knowledge you've captured is always being resurfaced.
