Let's say you are outside your brother's middle school inside your car because you have to pick him up today. You have nothing to do, your phone has no internet, you forgot to grab the book you have been reading, what do you do?

I have been found in this position way too many times in my life. When I find myself bored in this way and my phone does not have any internet whatsoever or even when it is annoyingly slow, I will start looking at my photos.

Yes, that is right. My camera roll has the best times, the funniest photos, and the most forgotten memories.

Scrolling through it I find all types of different photos. Sometimes I come across one of the most beautiful pictures of my ex and I. This picture alone is reason enough to make my eyes water and make me play the most outdated breakup songs.

Let’s say none of this happens to you. You barely look at your camera roll, however you like to keep your pictures there.

What would happen if one day you find yourself in another relationship? What then? Are you keeping those pictures that you believe never had any meaning to you?

I hope the answer is no. Deleting those pictures will simply be a respectful beginning for your new relationship.

Just as this is a new beginning and even if you are not yet seeing anyone, deleting the picture with your ex-partner could simply be out of respect for what once was but will never be again. This could be an extremely hard part of the giving process, however if you want to move on, the answer could start by that delete button on your phone.
