Consistent happiness is a dream.

You need a framework in place for when things get you down.

Scott Galloway, marketing profressor from NYU Stern School of Business and succesful entrepreneur has this easy to follow system to get your head back above water.

Its called SCAFA.

Here's how it works

S - Sweat

When you begin feeling down, push yourself to do a hard workout.

Studies have shown exercise to be an excellent weapon in the fight against depression.

C - Clean Eating

Ever felt like trash after a big feed of junk food?

Don't compound your depressive feelings by eating poorly.

Lean meats, vegetables, fruits and lots of water while you push through your low feelings.

A - Abstinence

Cut out alcohol/recreational drug use.

Alcohol and drugs mixed with depressive feelings are not a good combination for obvious reasons.

F - Family/Friends

Lean on your circle of family and friends to bring you out of a funk.

I've found that although they may annoy me, being around people who have your best intersts at heart is restorative.

A - Affection

A simple hug. Holding each other on the couch. Cuddles with your pet.

Researchers say touch can reduce pain, depression and anxiety.

I've struggled with mental problems for much of my life, however implementing parts of the SCAFA system when things are down has helped me overcome the mood dips.

Hopefully it helps you when depression hits
