Creativity is as old as life itself.
The English word creativity has roots in fertility, in the ripening of the moon (Crescent), and in the goddess of agriculture Ceres. And in the Tibetan language, there is no word for Creativity, the closest word to being creative is 'being natural'.
These days, for most of us, being natural means a mind constantly in motion - watching, tapping on the phone, talking, working, reading, writing, worrying, thinking.
While we are busy running, making, creating - a natural (and creative) life needs the opposite too - the slowing down, savoring, pausing, and observing.
Pauses create space for the alchemy where our thoughts, dreams, knowledge cook together to give life to new ideas.
Pauses enable us to see the divinity in our everyday existence, and create space for new ideas. Like when the earth and the sky make space for an acorn to turn into an oak tickling the clouds.
How do you make space for such pauses in your life?
