I put on my cherry red boots and comb my hair. Then I pack the orange backpack with the phone, a charger, a Sketchbook and colored pencils, and am ready to leave. I am going out to a cafe to write. Not sure what will I write about.

And now I am here at the cafe, with a plate of nachos and rooibos tea - a red summer sunset in a cup. I still don’t know what I will write about. I eat some more nachos, drink some tea. The plate of nachos is almost empty, and the tea is getting cold but nothing seems to be coming up.

It doesn’t worry me though, I am used to this. 10 years of making 600+ artworks and 2+ years of writing a weekly newsletter have taught me well.

Showing up and starting something is my job, the art and writing will come by themselves. If not today, then tomorrow, because I know I will show up tomorrow too.

As Elizabeth Gilbert, one of my favorite writers, says, I am dressed for my muse, just like every other day, and she knows where to find me.
