Where does the insatiable creativity within and around us come from?
Beant K Dhillon 🚢

There is a nest of wasps in our garden, in a gap between the window frame and the wall. They flit in and out all of the gap day long. Sometimes they enter the kitchen and their frantic powerful buzzing worries me till they leave.

There are snails climbing the glass doors and windows, and a vine of Morning Glory is trying to sneak into the house. We planted many things - eggplants, watermelons, tomatoes, swiss chard, carrots, purple basil. None of them came up.

What came up instead were the Jerusalem artichokes, springing up taller than any of us, all this glory from a forgotten half-root that was left behind in the soil last year.

And the summer squashes, oh, the summer squashes covering half of the garden. All birthed from some vegetable remains we had dumped in the garden.

This is how creativity works. Using anything and everything as a raw material.

Our life force, desires, actions, and the life force of the universe mingle together to create a bounty of new life, over and over again, beyond the judgment of good or bad, right or wrong. The creative life force continues to flow if only we let it.

What feeds your creativity usually?
