Uncertainty makes us intensely 𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲

'Unpredictability' literally makes our mind think we're in danger.

To the point where we (humans) prefer 'bad news' to 'no news'.
Examples:

We'd rather be told we didn't win a critical pitch instead of the silent treatment that lingers on tortuously, or the classic 'I'm okay with knowing we didn't make it to the final rounds, but the suspense of not knowing will just kill us" (.. and many more such as these)

Park this subconscious behavioural trait, as good-to-know information the next time you feel the urge to rush or push a response on an important negotiation or collaboration.

Use this waiting time to add greater value if possible to strengthen your negotiations or proposal.

This'll prevent great opportunities from being jeopardised simply because the wait was too hard.
