I write about running injuries and how I fixed my broken body | Trine University T&F Alumni | RPR Level 2 | FeedTheCats

Greg Clark was a Tight End for the 49ers, a professional athlete who was self-proclaimed 'good at dips'. In 5 sets at Dr. Craig Heller's lab at Stanford University, he proved that to be true: 100 dips with 40 in his first set. What was intriguing is the second time he came into the lab, they cooled his palms in between sets.

In a two-three day span Clark, a professional athlete, DOUBLED his work capacity in both reps and sets by cooling his palms in 3 min rest periods.

Now, this has me thinking of a ton of questions:

#1. Where can I buy a CoolMitt? (Not for sale for normies yet.)

#2 What are the implications in muscle growth, fat loss, recovery, and performance benefit? If I can double my work capacity, then that has to change body composition. You can't just double your work and not see physical changes.

#3 If you can lower core body temperature that quickly, this should also help with sleep like a Chilipad, but cheaper and smaller.

I don't have any of those answers yet, but I have found a low tech option available from AVACooling. Instead of the vacuum pump super cooler like Heller's lab, this comes in the form of a cooling metal tube that you fill with cool, not cold water and hold onto. Same technology, much more compact.
