You probably started freelancing to make some extra money.
So you don’t want to spend a bunch of money on software when you’re first getting off the ground.
But as a freelancer, you are running a business. And you need tools to run that business.
Here’s the FREE tech stack I used as a freelancer just getting started:
📆 Scheduling
Calendly
Schedule calls with your clients by sending them a link where they can book the best time for them.
🎨 Design
Canva
Pretty powerful, browser-based design tool with lots of great templates. Can be used for quick designs like an email header or social media designs.
💻 CRM/Accounting
Dubsado
A comprehensive business management platform, built for freelancers. Free for your first 3 clients, you can create and send contracts, collect payments, and create workflows to automate the busy work.
💬 Communicating with Clients
Slack
Organize communication between you and your clients into specific channels.
☑️ Project Management
Asana
Schedule and track all your projects in one place. Asana’s different views - kanban, list, and calendar - make it very versatile and fits many working styles. You can also share access to your projects with your clients to share your progress.
🔀 Automation
Zapier
Connect just about anything with Zapier and automate those pesky, recurring tasks in your business.
📝 Writing
Hemingway App
This web-based app lets you know when your writing becomes too complex or difficult to understand. It’s a great tool to help you write clear and concise messages (like this one!)
What else would you add to this list?
