Essential oils are great, but there are many other ways to use aromatherapy.

Start your day with a glass of water and add a fat lemon slice to it. Can't you smell that fresh citrus? It wakes you up and energizes you.

The smell of coffee brewing will do the same.

I don't drink coffee, but I have an herbal tea that I could scent my home with; it smells so good.

Stop at your local florist and buy some sprigs of eucalyptus to hang from the showerhead. The steam from the shower will disperse the scent and make you feel like you're at a spa. What a way to start the day!

Don't forget fragrant body lotions and hand creams - when you smell good, you feel good.

You could even add a nice air freshener to your car.

Peppermint is a beautiful scent. It wakes your brain up, especially during that three o'clock slump. When I worked at the learning center of a local college, we always had peppermints around; the kids would stop in before a test and grab a few.

Fresh herbs are a fragrant, healthy addition to your meals.

Some sweet-smelling flowers on your table are a nice touch.

Burn a nice-smelling candle at night to relax into your evening. Or you could spray your pillow with a lavender spray to help you sleep. And don't forget fresh smelling sheets!

You can practice aromatherapy all day easily.
