3 Strategies to Use When Facing a Challenge
Candas Ifama Barnes - The Wordsmith 🚢

Are you currently face to face with a challenge?

Here are 3 strategies you can use to get through it:

1) Find a way to shift your perspective of the situation from a problem to a challenge.

Often when something that feels insurmountable happens part of the overwhelm is you are seeing it as bigger than you can handle. Rarely is that the case. Most often, whatever comes your way, regardless of what it is, is something you are fully equipped to address.

In the moment, you may feel small and ineffective; however, when you can remind yourself that you have survived, and actually overcome every single thing that has ever happened to you, you can use that awareness to remind yourself that this too shall pass and you are up for the challenge.

2) Get clear about what part(s) of the situation you can do something about.

Even though the situation you're facing may feel daunting there are ALWAYS things you can control. Your attitude. Your approach. Your demeanor. Your responses. Choose to address the situation while keeping your values and integrity in tact.

No matter what comes, there are always things you can control and the most important ones are how you engage with whatever is going on.

3) Phone a Friend.

Several years ago, on the popular show, "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire," when contestants weren't sure of the answer to the challenge they were facing, they could call a friend to ask for support, advice and even a specific answer.

You have the same power. Get still and think of who you know that could give you the answer you need. Reach out to her. Tell her what you're facing, Listen to her suggestion and act on it.

There is always a way to resolve whatever you're facing. Use one or all of these three strategies and take action.

You've got the power! 💜🤟🏾7️⃣7️⃣
