4 years of buying whatever was available on the market.
4 years of thinking "growing is too hard and expensive, and I'll probably screw it up."
If you're like me and you've ever wanted to grow your own but let the fear of the unknown stand in your way, then let me reassure you, it's not as hard (or expensive) as you think.
A hobby grow can be as affordable and manageable as you allow it to be.
A few hundred dollars. You will have to buy some equipment.
A legal place to grow. Not required, but, to do this legally, with less stress, it helps to not worry about the chance of arrest.
A space. Outdoors or indoors, you'll need a place for your plant(s); don't try to grow in a pretty vase on the window sill, I've done this, and you'll most likely fail.
A source. You have to start somewhere, usually a seed or clone.
A commitment. You have to be committed to keeping your plant alive from seed to harvest
