Hi, I'm a fasting coach. After struggling with my weight for years, I adapted to a fasting lifestyle, lost 50 lbs and kept it off. linktr.ee/chereecaesar

These lyrics never made sense to me. How could needing something from anyone be a good thing? I thought that standing on your own two feet was the ultimate victory. Of course, this way of thinking ignores the fact that some of us don't have two feet to stand on.

You know who needs people? Babies. And since my infancy is long, long behind me, I have no excuse for needing people.

Yet, I have chosen two professions, pharmacy and coaching, that are all about helping people. If other people need me, perhaps it's possible that I may need help myself.

So, why was it okay for other people to need me while I thought I had to do it all on my own? Perfectionism

In my old world view, perfect people (a group I hoped to belong to one day) don't need anything from anyone. Why would they?

When you're perfect, you already have everything you need. To admit needing something was to admit weakness and imperfection.

In fact, there is weakness and imperfection in all of us and failing to admit it and trying to hide it can only increase our deficits. Not to mention that this way of thinking feels awful.
