Most indie founders think ideas are the hard part of starting a SaaS company; the truth is that execution is the hardest part of any idea.
But without a system to validate ideas, you have nothing to execute.
So, creating (or copying) a system to validate ideas must be mandatory for any founder to create.

Why?
Because ideas without a system to validate them are not random thoughts.

The other misconception and wrong belief is that you should constantly look for ideas; I would better say you can search for answers to problems that matter to you.

I mean, it is possible to look for ideas and maybe find some that are good without a system, but it will be hard to look for them constantly, and you will get tired of it, bored, or at some point stop looking because this continuous search will decrease your energy level.

These four system steps will help you pull ideas (instead of pushing them), give you a framework to filter them, and create MVPs faster than any other founder.

Steps

1-Creation:
Use anything to backlog (Notion, Excel, piece of paper, anything works for you) problems and create ideas to solve them. You must make at least ten ideas per problem, not just one.

2-Filtering
This step will depend on your founder level (experience founder level).

Creating a singular filter system step for all types of founders, companies, products, and businesses is challenging.
So, for now, let's say you are starting with no experience at all (so it is easy for us to highlight the idea).

Remember that times matter (in business and life), and there is a cost opportunity associated with it, so you must focus on those ideas that decrease the cost, increasing your wins the most.

However, as a founder, it is hard to quantify wins and more if you have zero intuition, business, or market knowledge. However, you can immediately quantify cost with certainty, so focus on these two metrics: decreasing cost and speed (of knowledge acquisition).

2-Discarding

This step will also depend on your founder level (experience founder level).

From experience, this is the most critical step because it relies on the selection problem-solution (MVP) combination you will execute for the next few days or weeks (no more than that).

If you are starting, you can only use the questions below in an Excel or table, quantify every one of them, or use checkboxes (as I explain here); only then will you be ready to execute your MVP.

1. Can I build this myself in less than a week?

2. Are people currently spending money on it?

3. How much $ I can charge?

4. How happy I will be building it.

If you have more experience as a founder, you can use these questions below instead:

1. How will I get the first 25 customers? (Then the next 250?)

2. If it works, will it be sustainable?

3. Am I the person to build this business?

4. Is it a pain-killer product?

5. How big is the TAM (total addressable market)
