I’m pretty sure we all learned about nutrition in Physical ED class. When I was in Elementary every year, we would go over this pie chart to try to teach children about making healthy choices. I don’t think anyone actually listened but I feel like it stuck with all of us since it was constantly repeated.
The food chart mentioned healthy fruits, grains, vegetables, dairy, and protein to try to implement in your daily consumption. I saw this chart again when I took PE again my freshman year and all the memories had flooded back. I started paying more attention in class and my teacher had gone over how to plate your meals to benefit you. In a plate you would want to cut ant fats and sugars but could have a small portion, a majority of the portion would go to your vegetables, and half and half would be split between your protein and grains.
I feel like what’s deemed healthy is different though for each person though, since everyone has different goals in their bodies. Someone who’s in the gym needs to consume their weight in protein if they’re engaging in weightlifting since they’re not going to grow without it. You should still implement that food chart in your meals but adjust it to your own needs. If you’re planning on making changes, they should be subtle, rushing into harsh changes could be detrimental if you’re adding physical activity to your day-to-day.
Limiting unhealthy meals and sugars/fats from your diet and drinking a lot of water could create major changes even if these changes are small at first, they could make a big difference later.
