The hardest problem I've had online so far is finding a niche.
"Should I write about writing? Should I write about marketing? But I also love mindset stuff. Is that too broad? Is it too narrow? Who's going to read any of that? What authority do I have?"
I have a feeling I'm not alone in this.
And then there is the conflicting niche advice:
You need to be very specific about who exactly you're talking to
You need to be in a niche that you enjoy, so follow your passion
Forget passion, you need to be in a niche that makes money, otherwise, what's the point?
And then there's Dan Koe's advice:
The most profitable niche is YOU
Let's explore this a little more.
How to recreate yourself as a brand:
Map your ideal future - How does your story end?
Intelligent imitation - Create a tribe of mentors and consume their content exclusively. Don't steal, but imitate it.
Book-to-brand content:
Treat your ideal future as the end of the story
Make note of your past - these are pivotal points at the start of the book
Write an outline of the book - what are the chapters that must be included to reach the end goal?
Outline key points for each of those chapters
Write your story along the way - this gives people hope
When in doubt, zoom out - immerse yourself in information, and your subconscious mind will help you make things more clear.
Being a creator is a life philosophy.
I watched Dan's YouTube video on this topic, and one of my favorite things he said was:
"Being a creator is a life philosophy."
Being a creator isn't a job. It's your life. It's what you put out into the Universe.
So if you're struggling to find a niche, turn your life story and life philosophy into a niche. Guide the people right behind you along the way.
Become a niche of one - YOU.
