I still remember the day when by chance I had found out what was "wrong with me".
It was a Sunday in summer of 2018 and I was laying in my hammock with my iPad to check my social media.
In a group on Facebook, I found a post from a woman thanking the group for a book recommendation.
She had finally found out that it was completely ok to have many interests. Simply because she was a so-called "scanner personality".
Curious, I googled the term scanner personality.

Suddenly I felt no more guilty for not sticking to one interest for a long time

Most people burn for one thing, to which they often devote themselves for a lifetime. Scanner personalities, on the other hand, move curiously through the variety of possible topics, professions, and hobbies: they live in a constant alternation of getting to know, plunging into, absorbing, living through, and letting go off.
Because they have little stamina when something no longer interests them - scanner personalities hate being bored

If a topic starts to interest me, I soaked up everything like a sponge. Blogs, videos, books, just everything. If I then have acquired enough knowledge, the interest usually ebbs as quickly as it had come. Until something new begins to arouse my interest and the whole circle starts all over again.

By now I was reassured because I knew it was ok and I wasn't alone.

It's ok to have not that "one" purpose in life!

Enjoy every interest that sparks your joy and don't feel bad for letting go one for the next, especially when you loose interest in something you had put your heart and soul (and maybe even a dollar or two) into it for weeks or even months.
