12 Rules For Jiu-Jitsu
chris wojcik
  1. Don’t take yourself too seriously. One day you're going to realize how much time you wasted not choosing to enjoy yourself.

  2. Tap early, tap often. No one cares about who wins in training.

  3. Be kind to your training partners.

  4. When you’re upset about your performance, treat yourself like a training partner.

  5. Respect your coach, but not at the expense of the respect you have for yourself. Could talk more about this, but I'll let you figure it out.

  6. Wash your gi (not your belt though, don’t want to lose your powers). How bad do you want it?

  7. Don’t train with a contagious condition that you wouldn’t want to get from someone else. Be clean! Don't have bad breath! I was kidding about not washing the belt!

  8. Focus on yourself until you’re good enough that people ask you to help them. Focus on yoself KING.

  9. Be receptive to feedback (positive and negative).

  10. Match your partner’s intensity. People struggle with this.

  11. Don’t give up. You're gonna wanna.

  12. Read The Grappler's Diary every day. I'm a little sleepy and I couldn't think of a 12th rule, but honestly, this should suffice :)
