How to build a business on one hour a day
Creative Sensei

Why

Do you have a full time job, and a family, and feel you need to be there for them? Do you want to have more time to spend with your loved ones, learning new things, and living a healthy lifestyle?

Me too.

I am happy at my job, don´t get me wrong. I love what I am doing, but if I could have the income in half the hours, I would take it.

The Search

I have been looking for a formula to bring in more income in an asymmetric way for the past couple of years. I mean, I put in less work than the return I get.

Something I can do every day, with minimal logistics that fits in my busy schedule.

A business model that builds on skills I already have and aligns with my values and purpose.

The Contenders

Many alternatives I was not drawn into like e-commerce, crypto, and the like. Others, seemed too focused on the money making, and so far I got that covered with my job.

I started to gravitate towards the Creator Economy for a bit. Toyed with youtube videos, promoted inconsistently in Instagram... but video is very time consuming and inconvenient if you live with other people, creating images may take a while...

Also, most of the influencers promote hustle culture, and that is a lifestyle model I don´t want to pursue. I started to follow people like Marie Forleo, and Graham Cochrane. They talk about sustainable business models.

Graham Cochrane runs his business on 5 hours a week, but his model is not yet convenient for me (video based). Then I discovered Dan Koe and his 2 hour Writer model (and course). He actually writes for one hour a day. The other hours is to spend in self actualization and generating ideas.

The Winner

I was drawn to Dan Koe's business model based on your different interests. He calls it a niche of one, and I call it the answer to my dreams. And his business model requires writing for a limited amount of time. I'm in!
