A few years ago I've started to read Gary Bencivenga's marketing bullets, it holds so much wisdom and advice that could be used not only in advertising.
In one of his articles he shares Bob Parsons' 16 rules to live by and I think it's great inspiration.
Bob Parsons’ 16 Rules to Live By
1. Get and stay out of your comfort zone.
[I always try to do this otherwise I get bored and that's worse than comfort.][
Never give up. [I can't even if I want to.]
When you’re ready to quit, you’re closer than you think. [I know this from experience, it was hard many times and when I wanted to throw in the towel and then something magic happen.]
With regard to whatever worries you, not only accept the worst thing that could happen, but make it a point to quantify what the worst thing could be. [I always do this even though I don't like it, I always think if the worst outcome when I do something.]
Focus on what you want to have happen. [I am working on this, sometimes it's difficult, work in progress.]
Take things a day at a time. [Due to some unforeseen events in my life that were hard ,I am now taking each day at a time.]
Always be moving forward. [Always 100%.]
Be quick to decide.[ I still need to work on this one.]
Measure everything of significance. [Lately I've started to do this.]
Anything that is not managed will deteriorate. [True]
Pay attention to your competitors, but pay more attention to what you’re doing. [I rarely check competition, I am doing my own stuff.]
Never let anybody push you around. [This is a big one, always stick for yourself.]
Never expect life to be fair. [I used to expect it but I realised it will never be.]
Solve your own problems.[ Always working on it.]
Don’t take yourself too seriously.[ I have a long way to go.]
There’s always a reason to smile. Find it.[ Always looking for one.]
