As engineers, we tend to think quite literally about value.
An oven creates value by cooking your food so that it tastes good and doesn't make you sick.
A blender creates value by turning ingredients into delicious soups, sauces, and smoothies.
If an engineer were asked to create a higher-value oven or blender, they would likely consider what new features they could add or which existing features could be improved.
But now, think about Nutribullet. Fundamentally, it's just a blender.
However, the name "Nutribullet" invokes feelings of health and speed.
Similarly, consider Air Fryers. At their core, they are simply small ovens with a powerful fan.
Yet, the name "Air Fryer" also invokes feelings of delicious, yet healthy, "fried" food.
These products added value simply through their names.
There is a name out there for your feature or product that could invoke stronger feelings in your customers than your current name. A name that would add genuine value with zero engineering effort.
As a technical solopreneur, this represents an opportunity. By spending some time brainstorming names that resonates with our customers we can enhance perceived value without writing a single line of code.
