Follow this advice and free yourself of the worry that you need to finish a book to move on to the next.

A few weeks ago I watched @naval on Joe Rogan's podcast.

The one philosophy that made an immediate impact on me is how to consume knowledge.

Here it is.

Naval does not read books to finish them. The urge to finish books is either for showing off or to follow arbitrary constraints.

These constraints often end up restricting our consumption of knowledge and keep us stuck in a loop where we never finish anything.

The solution? Skim through books and read what catches your interest, and research it further via the internet.

This advice changed my perception of books. I have read only 2 books in the last 2 years because of mental constraints to finish what I start.

After following this advice I have picked up 5 books in the last 2 weeks and skimmed through them.

I have found dozens of new exciting ideas that I have researched further and learned a great deal.

I have given myself permission to leave books unread. I can always pick them up later.

Never with the purpose of finishing them but with the purpose of gaining knowledge.
