I have a relationship pyramid.
My most intimate relationship is at the top.
My least intimate relationships are at the bottom.
When I have too many people at the top, my ability to sustain and care for relationships topples.
Here are the levels

Level #1: Most Intimate Relationship
The person that I am closest with is my wife.
I am committed to prioritizing her over all my other relationships.
• scheduling
• energy level
• what I choose to share with her
There is no one else at this level.

Level #2: Closest Family & Friends
I have 3 people in this circle.
The closest family/friends are my supportive network.
• I seek their counsel
• I lean on them when I need help
• I trust them to know my weaknesses
They get the priority of my time.

Level #3: My #1 Team
I reserve this level for my teammates on the same level as me. I need them to do my work well. These are the people I turn to when I have an issue at work.
When I have a strong relationship with my #1 team, I don't feel alone at work.

Level #5: Everyone Else at the School
These are the students, parents, community members, and everyone who cares about the school. They might be higher on someone else's pyramid, but they are furthest away from me.
So I have to strategize my care for them.

Level #6: Anyone Who Is Not in Levels 1-5.
I enjoy meeting new people and engaging in the community.
But when it comes to allocating my energy and time, they are at the bottom. I still care for them, but I need to confess that my energy and time are limited.
I am human.

My relationship pyramid gives me the energy to care for my relationships appropriately:
• wife
• friends
• #1 Team
• 2nd Team
• School Community
• Everyone Else that I Know
When I have my pyramid in order, I feel secure and confident to take on the challenge of work
