WARE: A 4 letter acronym writers use to increase the power of their stories
David White

In 'A Theory of Human Motivation' Abraham Maslow outlined the universal needs of society based on his observations of humans' innate curiosity.

There are nine stages, four of which are clearly linked through the acronym WARE and it is particularly valuable to storytellers as it can be used as a simple formula to ensure self-appeal power is embedded in your story.

In addition to finding a story enjoyable, the same story can satisfy the basic needs of the reader too.

WARE: For Wealth, you must show Affection to gain Respect with which you should Endure.

Wealth (money)

Wealth is not the most important thing in life, yet nearly all of us are motivated to work for money to buy the things we need. We have an unconscious need to know more about money.

Affection (romance)

Romance is invariably about the future promise and is often entertaining or humorous.

Respect (recognition)

Recognition can raise the importance and equate to higher income, a better job, or simply a better standing in society.

Endurance (self-preservation)

Most of us discover most of the time, that what we want to happen does not always happen at the speed we expect. So, we endure.

Each of these elements features in my free course for those who want readers to flock to them, achieved by becoming the Authority Figure in your field of interest.
